Nord Mead 2015

Every now and then Significant Otter gets a hankering to try his hand with mead-making, and this year was no different. So he made a batch, and then made cutest puppy-eyes at me to craft a label for the bottles, so he can print it on stickers and slap it on. He gave me specs, with fonts and text, but left the actual image implementation completely open to me, besides "something Viking-ish" or "Skyrim-ish".

So I gave 'im a Khajit.

It turns out that the hair was the easiest piece in this (Goldtassel's Gothic Mohawk), and almost everything else gave me grief. But I got it done, by gum.

The main ingredients that went into the picture:

DarioFish has a really kickass Catfolk shape for Genesis, which was the base on which I tinkered. You'd be astonished to find out what ELSE went into the mix, though... Amazing what you can do with also Zev0's Face Weight morphs and everything else. RawArt3d has some really nice kittyskins for Genesis, and I went with sabretooth, for that honey-golden, primal look.

SickleYield contributed her wondrous rigged waters, and smay3d Zombie set gave that dangling drop of mead, originally intended to be blood. Maclean's Everyday Drinks (white wine bottle) became the basis for mead, and I'm told that color is actually quite close to what Significant Otter bottled yesterday.

Finally, after rendering the kittycat feasting on well-won mead, it was time to do postwork in Photoshop, and deviney has all the tools you can ever want to for that, with his wondrous brushes and styles. This picture has more layers than a ginormous onion...

What comes to mead itself -- I have no idea how it is going to taste like, since it won't be drinkable until mid-2016, earliest.
